Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience working with plumbing-related legislated codes and regulations

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the physical capability to perform required activities, including working alone, under extreme conditions, in confined spaces, in secure facilities, and while wearing personal protective equipment
  • The candidates should be experienced in working with plumbing and heating systems in a large commercial, industrial, institutional facility, or correctional facilities

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess knowledge of safe work practices, procedures, and relevant safety policies and legislation
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to plan and make effective work-related decisions independently
  • The candidates should have strong organizational skills
  • The candidates should exhibit effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • The candidates should possess strong verbal communication skills
  • The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • The candidates should possess a valid Red Seal Journeyperson Plumbing license
  • The candidates should hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license with the ability to travel within the Province when required
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse check; additional security checks may be required
  • The candidates should possess a valid Manitoba Gas Fitters B license and American Waterworks Association (AWWA) certification
  • The candidates should have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • The candidates should have completed Asbestos Abatement training

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform plumbing maintenance, testing, installation, and repair on all aspects of plumbing throughout District One
  • The candidates should be capable of handling job sites, including industrial, commercial, institutional, and correctional facilities
  • The candidates should be able to have duties that include, but are not limited to, maintenance and repair of domestic water and wastewater systems, hot water heating systems, and specialized institutional plumbing systems
