Job Description:

Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation and public transportation is not available

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Cleavers, knives, power cutting tools, and stunning devices
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to handle repetitive tasks and heavy loads, perform physically demanding work, and demonstrate manual dexterity with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to exhibit hand-eye coordination and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking positions, including standing for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to perform tasks involving bending, crouching, kneeling, and handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accurate and be able to work as a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses and slaughter cattle, calves, and sheep as prescribed by religious laws
  • The candidates should be able to remove feathers, singe and wash poultry to prepare for further processing or packaging and cut meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial or other wholesale use
  • The candidates should be able to remove bones from meat

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
