Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a bachelor’s degree (120 credits) from a Canadian designated educational institution
Experience: Candidates should have 3 years of experience working with people with complex social, health or legal needs
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to work with adult clients who may have multiple legal, health, social, and mental health challenges and clients who have committed or alleged to have committed criminal acts, including intimate partner violence or sexually motivated offences
- The candidates should be willing to submit to a driver’s abstract review for the last five-year period
- The candidates should be willing to participate in and successfully complete the position’s training requirements
- The candidates should be willing to adjust hours of work while on basic training if part-time employees
- The candidates should be willing to travel overnight to remote locations and work outside typical work hours
- The candidates should be located in BC at the time of employment, as employees of the BC Public Service must reside in BC
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have sixty (60) credits of post-secondary education towards a diploma and 3 years of full-time related experience (or equivalent) working with people with complex social, health and completed a two-year diploma
- The candidates should have successfully completed the Adult Probation Officer pre-requisite course (CORR1000). Exemptions can be found in the Job Profile
- The candidates should have a valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license without restrictions or an equivalent Canadian driver’s license. A valid BC Class 7
- The candidates should confirm if post-secondary education was obtained outside of Canada, it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services and provide a Comprehensive Report by the closing date of this posting
- The candidates should provide proof of English language proficiency if post-secondary education was instructed in a language other than English. More details on this can be found in the Job Profile
- The candidates should be willing to undergo a Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening
