Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Grade 12
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work both day and night shifts, with an understanding that shift schedules may change frequently based on business needs

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a current and valid driver’s license in the province of Alberta (Class 5 or equivalent)
  • The candidates should hold a 4th Class Power Engineering Certification or higher

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to maintain knowledge of all departmental safety standards, policies, and procedures, and promote, encourage, and enforce safety compliance among all personnel and contractors
  • The candidates should be able to maintain knowledge of Bunge PQSE policies and procedures, ensuring consistent compliance and carrying out safety and housekeeping programs and to make appropriate process adjustments to achieve target product quality goals in collaboration with co-workers and supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to continuously monitor department processes through visual inspections and HMI screens, operating equipment and processes safely and efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to make operational decisions to minimize plant downtime and communicate any issues that could affect safety, production, product quality, and equipment life to the Production Supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that all required samples are collected and properly labeled and to control equipment and processes safely and efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to support or initiate tasks in stopping and starting plant processes and equipment, minimizing time requirements and potential equipment damage during shutdowns and to support personnel during shutdowns by ensuring proper equipment isolation, safety procedures, and effective utilization of personnel
  • The candidates should be able to possess thorough knowledge of equipment and processes used for canola oil and meal production, including prep, extraction, and steam plant equipment
  • The candidates should be able to cooperate with shift crew members, maintenance personnel, and contractors to ensure safe, effective, and efficient work and to maintain accurate logs and notes, ensuring the accuracy of all department logs, notes, and production reports
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate self-motivation and initiative in monitoring and controlling department activities, making operational decisions with minimal supervision
  • The candidates should be able to operate in the prep and extraction plants, completing required QC testing and rotating through different plant areas to become familiar with processes and equipment
