Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Master’s Degree in a health
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of progressive clinical and professional leadership experience in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing to travel throughout the Zone and occasionally throughout the province

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and LEAN Apprentice Training or a yellow belt certification
  • The candidates should have previous management experience and demonstrate strong knowledge of Nursing professional practice issues and standards
  • The candidates should exhibit demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise, with a focus on quality patient or resident or client care
  • The candidates should demonstrate experience in building and enhancing effective partnerships
  • The candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as change management skills
  • The candidates should exhibit a dynamic leadership style focused on Leading themselves by having self-awareness, managing their performance and health, developing themselves, and demonstrating character aligned with NLHS’ values of Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE), Engaging others through fostering development, contributing to a healthy organization, communicating effectively, and building effective teams, Achieving results by setting direction, strategically aligning decisions with vision and values, taking action to implement decisions, and evaluating outcomes,
  • The candidates should have developing coalitions by purposefully building partnerships and networks, demonstrating commitment to customers and service, mobilizing knowledge, and navigating socio-political environments and Transforming systems by thinking analytically, questioning the status quo, encouraging innovation, orienting strategically to the future, and championing change
  • The candidates should maintain current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support nursing professional practice within the Central Zone by developing, maintaining, and evaluating structures aligned with a Professional Practice Model and the Professional Practice Nursing strategic and operational plans of NL Health Services
  • The candidates should be able to develop and foster collaborative relationships with frontline staff, Clinical Educators, Care Facilitators, managers, and directors across programs and departments to ensure client-centered care and best practices
  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership and practice expertise to nurses and their leaders, focusing on areas such as orientation, accountability, workload management, clinical documentation, research, resource allocation, outcome measures, advanced practice, continuing professional development, and expanding scopes of practice
  • The candidates should be able to work autonomously to lead productive and professional practice changes, involving critical analysis and synthesis of complex information
  • The candidates should be able to share PPC leadership and expertise with councils, committees, and interdisciplinary teams
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with external agencies including educational institutions, professional colleges or associations, and unions to advance nursing practice and education
