Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French and English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Secondary School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have 6 months to 1 year of experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work with diverse clients and staff and possess effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-professional team environment
  • The candidates should have the ability to work with clients from diverse ethnocidal and cultural backgrounds, teams, and stakeholders, demonstrating high levels of sensitivity and diplomacy

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have Special Courses combined with  in a health care-related field and possess a Personal Care Worker Certificate or be in the process of pursuing a certificate, diploma, or degree in a health care discipline
  • The candidates should have CPR certification and be reliable, co-operative, and client-focused, demonstrating motivation and initiative as a team player
  • The candidates should possess effective organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The candidates should have familiarity with clinical care and issues specific to mental health and addictions settings
  • The candidates should be bilingual in French and English and proficient in a second language

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to contribute to the organization and optimal function of the Emergency Department under the direction of the clinical staff
  • The candidates should be able to promote maintenance of the therapeutic milieu as a member of the interprofessional team
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to and participate in the assessment of designated patients and provide them direct patient care
  • The candidates should be able to accompany patients for medical clearance and for any other transfers as deemed
  • The candidates should be able to communicate both verbally and in writing about behavioural observations, assessments, and the patient’s response to care interventions
  • The candidates should be able to assume an active role in maintaining both dynamic and static security elements of the program and service
  • The candidates should be able to support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements and work in a shift rotation and on weekends
