Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of hold a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience leading and supervising a multidisciplinary team

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be licensed to practice nursing under the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. An equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of extensive experience working within the mental health or substance use service delivery system
  • The candidates should maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restrictions or an equivalent from another Canadian province
  • The candidates should have successfully completed any post-graduate development courses related to the treatment of adolescents with mental illness or problems of conduct
  • The candidates should have extensive on-site care experience in a mental health setting and progressive experience in various social services, including child protection, services for community living, youth justice, and community mental health services
  • The candidates should have completed leadership, supervisory, or management training and self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide effective on-site or community assessments for children and youth with severe and enduring mental health and behavior needs across all areas of the Province
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement tailored treatment plans that address the specific needs of each child or youth
  • The candidates should be able to conduct follow-up programs to monitor progress and adjust treatment
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and youth
  • The candidates should be able to engage with families and caregivers, providing education and resources to support the child’s mental health and well-being
  • The candidates should be able to maintain accurate documentation and reports related to assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes
