Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a community college diploma in architectural technology, architecture, or building sciences
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in project management of construction projects
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to read blueprints and legal surveys and access to reliable transportation for traveling to various sites to perform job duties and corporate business
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a detailed understanding of building systems and construction practices and an understanding of contract law as it applies to construction projects and construction administration
- The candidates should have an understanding of the OH&S Act, the requirements and roles of a Supervisor under the OH&S Act, and knowledge of hazardous materials, required legal actions, and remediation types
- The candidates should have an understanding of all applicable laws and legislation, including the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
- The candidates should have experience with cost estimating for construction projects, strong competency in Microsoft Office programs and strong competency in AutoCAD and other graphics-based programs
- The candidates should have practical knowledge of project planning and management software, such as Microsoft Project
- The candidates should have strong problem-solving skills, be able to manage time effectively, and set priorities based on changing parameters and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service
- The candidates should have good oral and written communication skills to assist in presentations, report writing, and taking meeting minutes
- The candidates should have project management courses and a PMP certification, an understanding of green construction and LEED certification
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to maintain detailed and comprehensive project files and documentation and provide administrative support for contract administration and budget management
- The candidates should be able to maintain project risk registers, dashboards, and field reports and take meeting minutes and schedule project meetings while supporting documentation
- The candidates should be able to assist in the preparation of RFP and RFQ documents, as well as tender packages research building systems’ means and methods
- The candidates should be able to assist in project reporting, stakeholder engagement, and public communications and support risk management by developing solutions and mitigating strategies
- The candidates should be able to review invoices for accuracy and completeness and assist in managing budgets, project scope, and schedules
- The candidates should be able to assist in preparing progress reports, update JD Edwards and asset registries and review drawings and specifications for completeness
- The candidates should be able to monitor site progress for compliance with contract documents and QA/QC standards and attend site meetings on a scheduled basis (weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
- The candidates should be able to assist with deficiency and warranty management and provide general support for project management services
