Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a degree in Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy and Social Work
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to have project management experience, including preparing and presenting project updates, briefing notes, and reports for senior management, boards, or councils, along with providing recommendations on complex issues
  • The candidates should have experience in the real estate or affordable housing sector, with familiarity in managing risks, financial aspects, and legal agreements
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong facilitation, prioritization, planning, and organizing skills, with a keen attention to detail in order to meet tight deadlines
  • The candidates should possess excellent communication skills and a well-developed ability to influence without authority
  • The candidates should be able to exhibit strong business and political acumen, as well as demonstrated professional judgment in decision-making

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to identify issues, conduct research, and engage with internal and external partners to develop and analyze options, with the goal of improving existing strategies, policies, and service delivery models
  • The candidates should be able to provide strategic advice, policy recommendations, and analysis to support the advancement of organizational strategies and business plans
  • The candidates should be able to identify gaps in current practices, conduct thorough research, and develop policies, making actionable recommendations to various stakeholders and approval levels
  • The candidates should be able to advocate on behalf of Calgary Housing with other orders of government, promoting policies, programs, and funding aligned with affordable housing objectives to improve the housing sector and create positive outcomes for current and future residents
  • The candidates should be able to conduct research, engagement, and analysis in response to policy initiatives and programs from various levels of government, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
  • The candidates should be able to communicate and coordinate Calgary Housing’s involvement in affordable housing initiatives with diverse partners, including federal, provincial, and municipal governments, public agencies, foundations, housing providers, residents, and other private and non-profit organizations
  • The candidates should be able to initiate and lead project management activities, including determining project scope, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, leading cross-functional teams, mitigating risks, and monitoring progress
  • The candidates should be able to provide regular progress reports through oral and written communication to senior management, the Board of Directors, and Calgary Housing’s Shareholder, ensuring that project objectives are met and risks are managed effectively
