Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a three year community college diploma as a Civil Engineering Technologist
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience within the design and project management of linear municipal infrastructure

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a working knowledge and practical experience of municipal engineering design and associated engineering standards and procedures
  • The candidates should be a member of OACETT as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) and Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
  • The candidates should possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills within an effective team environment
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently
  • The candidates should have extensive knowledge in municipal linear trail, road, sanitary, storm, and water design, including pertinent legislation, policies, and bylaws within federal, provincial, and municipal governments
  • The candidates should possess strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, GIS, and AutoCAD
  • The candidates should have a valid Class G driver’s license in good standing during the course of employment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate strong project management skills and proven leadership in delivering small to medium multi-disciplined capital projects, particularly in linear municipal infrastructure and growth-related projects within a team environment
  • The candidates should be able to possess strong technical knowledge in the planning and design of municipal infrastructure projects and related functions
  • The candidates should be able to exhibit strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, applying engineering principles to provide advice and recommendations
  • The candidates should be able to develop and monitor project schedules, financials, and effectively negotiate project changes and claims while ensuring project quality and adherence to schedule
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a strong awareness of municipal government structures and relevant legislation, standards, regulations, and policies at the local, provincial, and federal levels
  • The candidates should be able to effectively liaise with governing and approval agencies, stakeholders, developers, consultants, contractors, internal staff, and external agencies to facilitate project coordination and execution
