Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of 2 year diploma in engineering technology and business administration
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of experience in managing large third party contract delivery related to facility and property management

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to adapt to high-stress situations and constantly changing priorities

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in related construction or facility-related fields, including janitorial services, snow clearing, pest control, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control
  • The candidates should possess working knowledge of applicable legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Alberta Building Code, and Alberta Environment Act
  • The candidates should have access to a personal vehicle for business use and a valid Class 5 (or provincial equivalent) driver’s licence
  • The candidates should have a professional designation such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Property Manager (CPM), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), Real Property Administrator (RPA) and Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation
  • The candidates should ideally have experience with property management for high-rise office towers
  • The candidates should demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated customer focus and possess strong organization and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • The candidates should have the ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator’s permit and a security clearance will be conducted
  • The candidates should be prepared to provide proof of qualifications. An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on passing a pre-employment drug test assessing for drug use, including cannabis. Failure to pass may prevent hiring into safety-sensitive positions for up to twelve months

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage relationships for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with clients
  • The candidates should be able to research best practices related to site management services
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement procedures to ensure the provision of site management services such as landscaping, janitorial services, and parking
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate services provided by Facilities and support multiple tenants
  • The candidates should be able to assist in external contractor administration, including developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), selecting vendors, and monitoring contracts
  • The candidates should be able to assist with developing facility operation standards and provide an operational perspective on a variety of projects
  • The candidates should be able to participate in facility and site planning, including reviewing new space and renovation proposals and confirming that proposals align with Facilities standards
