Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in Environmental Public Health

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed a related field of study, along with a recognized Environmental Health technical program and completed a certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada)
  • The candidates should be an active member in good standing with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI)
  • The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle for work purposes with proof of business insurance
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The candidates should have strong judgment and decision-making skills and possess well-developed computer skills
  • The candidates should be assessed based on their experience, performance, and qualifications. As part of the selection process, the candidate’s current manager may be contacted to review this information

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to deliver a comprehensive environmental public health program within an assigned geographical area
  • The candidates should be able to perform work duties aimed at preventing, correcting, or limiting the effects of environmental health hazards
  • The candidates should be able to address hazards that are physical, chemical, or biological in nature, which may adversely affect the health of individuals or communities
  • The candidates should be able to support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation, and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations
  • The candidates should be able to ensure safe food, safe drinking water, safe recreational water, a safe built environment, and healthy environments in accordance with regulatory standards

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3000.00
