Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education in Civil Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have experience in the construction materials industry, specifically aggregates, asphalt, and concrete, with knowledge of quality control tests
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in both outdoor and indoor environments in all weather conditions
- The candidates should have flexible availability, including overtime and weekend work and perform moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying
- The candidates should be capable of handling aggregates lab equipment and work well both independently and as part of a team
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have an Ontario high school diploma (OSSD) or equivalent and excellent written and oral communication skills and be capable of building strong relationships internally and externally with customers
- The candidates should have good computer skills for Windows-based software and possess a valid driver’s license, minimum G2
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to implement Lafarge Safety Policies and ensure compliance with government legislation, conduct safety inductions for visitors to the Quality Lab or site and execute Job Hazard Analyses for QC tasks and implement necessary action items
- The candidates should be able to develop and execute Lab/QC Safety Improvement Plans, implement programs and processes to ensure all products comply with relevant codes, standards, and specifications
- The candidates should be able to apply Lafarge Quality Program procedures, including sampling, testing, reporting, and follow-ups and monitor and communicate Aggregate KPI performance and investigate variances, establishing corrective actions
- The candidates should be able to participate in or lead site-specific actions to reduce waste and utilize long products, including developing innovative material combinations and align Sales and Operations teams to ensure product performance meets customer expectations
- The candidates should be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving up to 50+ pounds, standing, walking, climbing, and working in various weather conditions
- The candidates should be able to wear and use appropriate PPE, including safety boots, reflective clothing, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with the Quality Control Supervisor, Production Staff, Distribution Staff, and Sales Territory Manager
