Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing education program
Experience: Candidates should have minimum 3 years acute adult inpatient medicine and Charge nurse experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work at the full scope of practice and have strong communication and leadership skills
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a large multi-disciplinary team
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- The candidates should hold a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- The candidates should possess a current/active license with CARNA (College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta)
- The candidates should have acute medical nursing experience, Geriatric & Dementia experience and experience working on Unit 42
- The candidates should complete the following free courses,( CRNA Medication Management – Chapters 1 – 4) and (NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification)
- The candidates should have experience working in a CoACT (Collaborative Action for Care Transitions) environment, experience with Connect Care and previous experience on Unit 42
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being
- The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
- The candidates should be able to teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
- The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
- The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care, reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
- The candidates should be able to responsible for the provision of direct patient care on Unit 42
- The candidates should be able to participate in all duties and responsibilities required to care for acute medical patients, aligning with the patient and family-centered care strategy
