Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Baccalaureate degree in nursing
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • The candidates should possess current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If they have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management
  • The candidates should possess strong communication skills and demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities
  • The candidates should hold an accredited nursing education program and experience working with EPIC
  • The candidates should have clinical expertise in the nursing care of patients with  neurological conditions
  • The candidates should have experience working on an acute neurological unit and basic computer skills
  • The candidates should have NIH certification and possess TORBSST certification and experience in seizure monitoring units
  • The candidates should hold Canadian Nurses Association certification in Neuroscience Nursing

  • The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations
  • The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in their practice
  • The candidates should be able to teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families
  • The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality, patient, and family-centered care
