Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to constantly move/lift up to 10 lbs., regularly move/lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally restrain/reposition/move/lift up to 30 lbs and able to push/pull with medium force
- The candidates should constantly stand/walk and be able to work in awkward or cramped positions to assist with procedures
- The candidates should constantly use fine finger/precision, auditory, sensory, and visual concentration to provide and conduct risk assessments, observe/monitor patients, complete documents, follow directions, administer medications
- The candidates should be prepared for possible time pressures/deadlines and may be subject to a lack of control over work pace
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should hold a current practicing license with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL)
- The candidates should have a satisfactory record of work performance
- The candidate should be prepared to complete the emergency orientation at its next available offering
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coordinate and participate in the delivery of holistic and supportive care to patients/clients/residents by assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care
- The candidates should be able to handle provision of emergency, health promotion, curative, supportive, rehabilitative, and palliative services
- The candidates should be able to provide professional supervision and direction to the nursing care team, while also supporting other members of the inter-professional team to achieve safe and effective care to residents
- The candidates should be able to ensure that documentation and nursing policies and practices are followed
- The candidates should be able to work together with families to ensure the highest standard of patient/resident/client-centered care
