Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program
Experience: Candidates should have current Obstetrics and Case Room experience, with two years’ experience within the last four years

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should constantly move/lift up to 10 lbs., regularly move/lift up to 25 lbs., and occasionally be required to restrain/reposition/move/lift up to 30 lbs. They should push/pull up to medium force
  • The candidates should constantly stand/walk and work in awkward or cramped positions to assist with procedures
  • The candidates should constantly use fine finger/precision, auditory, sensory, and visual concentration to provide and conduct risk assessments, observe/monitor patients, complete documents, follow directions and administer medications
  • The candidates should be prepared for time pressures/deadlines and a lack of control over work pace
  • The candidates should be willing to complete a minimum of 6 weeks Orientation and the Neonatal Resuscitation Program

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a current practicing license with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL)
  • The candidates should have a satisfactory record of work performance and attendance

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and participate in the delivery of holistic and supportive care to patients/clients/residents by assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care
  • The candidates should be able to provide emergency, health promotion, curative, supportive, rehabilitative, and palliative services as part of patient care
  • The candidates should be able to provide professional supervision and direction to the nursing care team while supporting other members of the interprofessional team to achieve safe and effective care for residents
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that documentation and nursing policies and practices are followed
  • The candidates should be able to work together with families to ensure the highest standard of patient/resident/client-centered care
