Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three (3-5 years) years recent experience in a clinical setting
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to successfully deal with stress in a high call volume contact center
- The candidates should be comfortable working with a variety of computer databases
- The candidates should have a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed an accredited nursing education program
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- The candidates should hold a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- The candidates should have experience in clinical areas that require high levels of independent assessment and triage skills
- The candidates should possess recent experience working with diverse client populations and clinical issues, including young families and seniors
- The candidates should have experience in interacting with clients over the telephone, nursing telephone triage, and mental health training and/or experience
- The candidates should have intermediate computer skills

- The candidates should be able to provide telephone triage services, offering health advice and information to callers across Alberta
- The candidates should be able to deliver high-quality and precise health advice and information within a contact care setting
- The candidates should be able to apply active listening, adept problem-solving, and the ability to ask relevant questions to assist the caller
- The candidates should be able to utilize analytical and critical thinking abilities crucial in determining the best care for Albertans
- The candidates should be able to thrive in an engaging environment, helping a diverse range of patients in a respectful and sensitive manner
- The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being
- The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
- The candidates should be able to teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
