Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be in good physical condition and willing to conduct physical interventions
  • The candidates should be able to work shift work, as the Safety Services department provides 24-hour coverage
  • The candidates should be willing to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather condition

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to deliver positive interactions with guests and co-workers
  • The candidates should successfully pass a criminal record check and provide a driver’s abstract
  • The candidates should possess a high degree of initiative and work well without supervision
  • The candidates should be computer literate, comfortable learning new software and using basic functions in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure the public safety and wellbeing of all patrons, staff, and local residents at PMR and provide First Aid to guests and staff, including the use of an AED and spinal injury management equipment
  • The candidates should be able to respond to alarms fire, nuisance, door and inspect alarms and security systems and rectify deficiencies
  • The candidates should be able to monitor the CCTV system and dispatch and liaise with emergency services as required (police, fire, ambulance, search and rescue, utilities and conduct accident and incident investigations and generate reports
  • The candidates should be able to perform foot and vehicle patrols of the property, including residences, parking garages, storage areas, and public access areas, to provide a deterrent to theft, vandalism, and disturbances and to identify safety concerns
  • The candidates should be able to enforce community noise by-laws, ensure doors and entrances are locked and secure and issue parking violation notices
  • The candidates should be able to intervene in disturbances and potentially violent situations in bars, restaurants, and private and public area
  • The candidates should be able to enforce PMR’s wildlife management program and respond to and solve guest problems and assist other departments
