Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a degree in Data Science, Information Technology or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience working with digital systems, program integration, information technology, or interface data analysis

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have Occupational Health and Safety experience or a working familiarity with Safety, which is preferred
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of database applications using relational database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Power BI, and knowledge in web development software, including HTML, and C#.Net
  • The candidates should have experience in migrating on-premises systems to the Cloud, experience with Cority software and experience with project management, business analysis, or business case development processes
  • The candidates should have well-developed communication skills and experience explaining complex issues to employees
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently, take initiative, and communicate effectively with team members and other business units and departments
  • The candidates should possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership and guidance to assist the OHS business unit in implementing and integrating safety systems across safety business processes
  • The candidates should be able to aid in the development of user guides and training that contribute to more user buy-in
  • The candidates should be able to support corporate reporting, ad hoc team and leadership requests, and interpret and translate customer needs into functional and technical requirements
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the assurance of the usability of digital safety systems utilized by City of Calgary business units
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that safety application processes conform to the organization’s long-term business strategy and collaborate with different business units
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with various projects and programs, providing an IT perspective on digital data infrastructure management improvement recommendations
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with appropriate internal and external resources to facilitate recommendations and suggestions for the development or sustainment of Cloud-based digital safety systems
  • The candidates should be able to establish and sustain safety data-quality metrics on digital platforms and requirements in collaboration with relevant parties to assist in developing safety procedures and internal controls affecting the quality of safety data
  • The candidates should be able to include the intake, storage, processing, and transmission of safety data to internal and external systems, which may include the development of automated safety reports/dashboards
