Salary: $18.00 hourly 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be able to manage physically demanding tasks
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to exhibit efficient interpersonal skills and showcase flexibility in their approach
  • The candidates should be able to show reliability in completing tasks and work well as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing, scrape away scales, and separate fillets using a knife
  • The candidates should be able to check fish fillets for optimal size, cut sections according to specifications, and place them in containers for weighing
  • The candidates should be able to ensure product and packaging conformity, performing machine adjustments as needed, and record production information
  • The candidates should be able to set up and operate machines for packaging, processing, and conditioning fish and seafood products, as well as unload them from fishing vessels and transport them to the work area
