Salary: $17.40 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time
Location: Kamloops, BC
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Early Morning, Morning
Type of crops: Onions and Potatoes
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, and carry out physically demanding activities
- The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, kneel, and manage a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- The candidate should be able to walk and handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clear fields of wood and stones, divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots, and grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market
- The candidates should be able to hand harvest vegetables, plant, cultivate and irrigate crops, and weed
- The candidates should be able to harvest crops, operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, and examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
