Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience in operating various types of lawn maintenance equipment such as whipper snipper, push lawn mowers, and hand rototillers

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing and able to lift and carry objects, with a maximum weight of 25 kilograms (55 pounds)
  • The candidates should be willing and able to work in varying weather conditions, including snow, rain, heat, and cold
  • The candidates should be willing and able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety rules
  • The candidates should be willing and able to travel via commercial or government transportation services when required
  • The candidates should be willing and able to work in uncomfortable positions and spaces, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, and work in high places such as ladders, scaffolds, and/or power mobile equipment
  • The candidates should be willing and able to attend all training as required
  • The candidates should be willing and able to purchase and wear steel-toe work boots and cold weather clothing heavy jackets, and toques
  • The candidates should be willing and able to walk 10 km or more a day while carrying and operating self-propelled lawn mowers and weed whips

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience using various handheld tools such as shovels, rakes, hand saws, pruners, and gas-powered hedge trimmers
  • The candidates should have experience in operating small equipment, including riding lawn mowers, garden tractors, skidsteers and experience in landscaping and
  • The candidates should possess a valid Canadian Drivers’ License equivalent to a Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License
  • The candidates should pass Security Clearance of Royal Canadian Mounted Police Facility Access Status

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist the Groundskeeper in various work orders and projects
  • The candidates should be able to assist in grounds maintenance services, including cutting grass, raking, trimming trees, shoveling, and snow removal
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain small riding equipment, such as riding lawn mowers and garden tractors
  • The candidates should be able to operate hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, and hand saws
  • The candidates should be able to operate and maintain small motorized equipment, such as push lawn mowers and weed whippers
  • The candidates should be able to provide physical labor at the grounds maintenance sites
