Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English, Spanish and French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 3+ years of audit experience in public accounting or in the resource industry
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a CPA designation or be actively working towards an accounting designation and experience with SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing)
- The candidates should possess experience in a SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) environment and mining experience and Proficiency in Spanish and French languages
- The candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission) and COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies) framework, along with strong technical audit skills
- The candidates should have effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities
- The candidates should demonstrate time management and multitasking skills to consistently meet deadlines
- The candidates should exhibit the ability to analyze, evaluate, and provide practical and value-added recommendations
- The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of diplomacy
- The candidates should have a proven ability to work effectively with a diverse stakeholder group
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to maintain the internal controls documentation including narratives and control matrices
- The candidates should be able to assist with preparing the annual risk assessment, scoping, and planning of the internal controls program and travel up to 30% (up to 2-week intervals)
- The candidates should be able to coordinate and work directly with external auditors, consultants, and site management to execute the internal controls plan
- The candidates should be able to perform testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls
- The candidates should be able to prepare written reports to management and the Audit Committee and present findings and control deficiencies to management
- The candidates should be able to coordinate and conduct follow-up reviews to ensure timely remediation of control gaps
- The candidates should be able to assist with executing internal audit projects and investigations and maintain an effective working relationship with mine site management and staff
- The candidates should be able to pursue continuous professional development opportunities and be willing to grow and support ESTMA reporting including the collection and validation of information
