Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of certificate in administrative law, investigation and enforcement, or criminology
Experience: Candidates should have five years or more (within the past eight years) of experience in a compliance and enforcement environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a degree, diploma, o or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related discipline
- The candidates should have five years or more (within the past eight years) of experience in leading and conducting inspections and investigations.
- The candidates should have experience producing written fact-based evidentiary reports of a complex and technical nature while maintaining confidentiality
- The candidates should have experience in leading and organizing search warrants, sometimes involving multiple agencies
- The candidates should have experience in setting up and managing multi-agency task forces and experience supervising, mentoring, and coaching staff
- The candidates should have experience developing and executing operational plans and experience handling and processing seized property and exhibits
- The candidates should have experience with covert operations and surveillance and recent policing experience (within the last three years) and valid BC driver’s license
- The candidates should have experience utilizing Major Case File Management and experience conducting criminal drug investigations
- The candidates should have experience writing Information to Obtain reports and preparing and organizing search warrants, sometimes involving multiple agencies
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to complete satisfactory background and security screening to qualify as a Special Provincial Constable, having completed the basic Special Provincial Constable training requirements or equivalent (Canadian Police or Law Enforcement Basic Training)
- The candidates should be able to write, prepare, and obtain Judicial Authorizations Search Warrants, Production Orders and Sealing Orders
- The candidates should be able to travel alone, late at night in remote areas of the province, under a variety of weather conditions
- The candidates should be able to work weekends, evenings, on a flexible, as-needed schedule
- The candidates should be able to respond to provocation, threats, and intimidation tactics in a professional manner
- The candidates should be able to sit for long periods in poor conditions weather, outdoor environments while carrying out observations or surveillance
- The candidates should be able to work in locations that may pose a variety of risks or hazards weapons, drug use, clandestine labs, prostitution, organized crime, remote locations and poor weather
