Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a completed Master’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have 3 years experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have strong leadership skills, independent judgment, and initiative, with the ability to manage and conduct complex and specialized research and policy analysis
- The candidates should be well-organized, capable of managing change and competing priorities, and able to undertake high-level work under tight deadlines while exercising sound judgment under pressure
- The candidates should be able to work cohesively in a team environment and take on complex assignments with minimal supervision
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have progressive position responsibility and possess superior writing skills, with proven experience in report writing and preparation of briefing materials
- The candidates should have strong leadership skills with the ability to build collaborative working relationships
- The candidates should have computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- The candidates should have knowledge of infrastructure delivery and funding models and knowledge of asset management fundamentals
- The candidates should have knowledge of the structure, processes, and key players in Government
- The candidates should and have a completed Engineering or Architecture degree with 3 years of related experience
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and evaluate policy options and prepare related background materials
- The candidates should be able to independently lead aspects of the policy and legislative process, including preparing submissions to Executive Council
- The candidates should be able to prepare reports and responses on health system issues related to infrastructure, including the impact of interventions in Nova Scotia
- The candidates should be able to lead and participate in working groups, representing Infrastructure perspectives on specific policy issues, and ensure deadlines are met while keeping senior staff informed of progress
- The candidates should be able to prepare briefing notes and correspondence for senior staff on a range of matters related to the Department of Health and Wellness’s mandate
