Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Computer and technology knowledge: Point of sale system, Electronic cash register
Cuisine specialties: Caribbean and Latin American cuisine, Gluten-free, International, Vegetarian
Credentials: Serving It Right Certificate, Food Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidates should be willing to for overtime
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be client focus, organized, initiative, flexible, and reliable
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

  • Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages, address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables, present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques or room billings
  • The candidates should be able to describe menu items including daily specials for customers
  • The candidates should be able to enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
  • The candidates should be able to advise on menu selections, clear and clean tables, trays and chairs, provide customer service
  • The candidates should be able to describe and advise on wine selection, order and maintain inventory of wines and wine glassware, serve food and beverages
  • The candidates should be able to greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages, take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff, assist clients/guests with special needs
