Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have Food Safety Certification – Level 1 on their first day in the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to slice vegetables for salads, entrees, and garnish on prepared foods and assemble party trays, meals, pizzas, and salads
- The candidates should be able to prepare and cook rotisserie chickens, ribs, and entrees. This includes coating ribs with barbecue sauce, combining ingredients for entrees and sauces, mixing by hand, forming and assembling, and baking products using commercial ovens and a rotisserie oven
- The candidates should be able to package, wrap, seal, weigh, and label products with an automated wrapping machine, as well as stock and rotate the display case
- The candidates should be able to follow Costco’s formulas and diagrams and monitor finished products to ensure department consistency and quality standards are met. They should also comply with health codes, including sanitation, temperature, and pull dates, while upholding safety and security procedures
- The candidates should be able to restock and assemble large boxes of ingredients and supplies in the prep area
- The candidates should be able to perform preventative maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements, cleaning equipment by disassembling and spraying with cleaning and sanitizing agents and wiping the base. They should also wash and sanitize parts in a 3-compartment sink or power soak sink
- The candidates should be able to clean the Deli area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and scrubbing. They should empty drain screens and trash, operate the trash compactor and cardboard baler
- The candidates should be able to provide and ensure prompt and courteous member service
- The candidates should be able to count the product on hand, figure out production needs, and document production on a daily form. They should fill out time and temperature record forms and record products to be salvaged, damaged, or destroyed for manager audit. Additionally, they should complete a sanitation checklist after the final cleanup
- The candidates should be able to assist in other areas of the department as needed
