Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of completed the tenth school grade
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally for short distances and understand and carry out instructions
- The candidates should be able to arrange an effective work schedule with minimal direction and maintain satisfactory relationships with library personnel
- The candidates should have use equipment and tools required for the job, such as hand trucks, furniture dollies, and pallet jacks
- The candidates should have demonstrate good physical condition, strength, and agility necessary for truck driving and handling heavy articles
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should some experience in shipping and receiving work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- The candidates should have working knowledge of techniques for safely loading various articles for transportation and easy unloading
- The candidates should have knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used to move heavy items
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work collaboratively within their team and across the system to assist the Driver I with deliveries
- The candidates should be able to maintain safe work practices when loading and unloading the delivery truck with totes
- The candidates should be able to assist with other shipping duties once deliveries are complete, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
- The candidates should be able to follow assignments received from a superior or directly from other branches or divisions
- The candidates should be able to represent the Library’s vision, mission, and values by demonstrating conduct that aligns with the library’s policies and procedures
