Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle, move, load, and unload materials as shunt drivers
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be aged 23 or older
- The candidates should possess a valid AZ / Class 1 Driver’s License
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure that all customer orders are processed in a timely and efficient manner by placing or removing trailers to and from designated areas
- The candidates should be able to open and close trailer doors as required, create and update a daily yard check and shunt log, and attach trailer seals as needed
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate good judgment when checking trailers and maintaining the shunt truck
- The candidates should be able to be responsible for ensuring that the rules of the yard are followed at all times, have a good understanding of and comply with all SOPs and Health & Safety guidelines, and maintain a clean environment
- The candidates should be able to suggest improvements to reduce hazards and prevent reoccurrences
- The candidates should be able to check/operate reefers and heated trailers and weigh yard trailers using the On-Site Truck Scale
- The candidates should be able to build LCV trailer and B-Train trailer combinations and move oversize trailers within the yard (LCV or 60′ Trailers)
- The candidates should be able to communicate with the Team Leader and Desk Clerks on a regular basis concerning operations
