Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Class 4/4F/F/4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles and buses with fewer than 24 passengers)
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate buses, school buses, or streetcars to transport passengers and provide passengers with information on fares, schedules, and stops
- The candidates should be able to collect fares, record transactions, and report delays, mechanical problems, and accidents
- The candidates should be able to load and unload the vehicle and deal with the public
- The candidates should be able to deal with difficult passengers and resolve conflicts and communicate with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers using two-way radio systems
- The candidates should be able to ensure children’s safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing the street while the bus is stopped and maintain control of student activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviors that could compromise safety
- The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
