Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to promote safety culture through engagement with site employees, H and S, and subcontractors with an objective of “zero” safety incidents and administer, promote, and review safety policies, processes, and procedures to maintain relevance while ensuring the site meets or exceeds all company and regulatory guidelines
- The candidates should be able to assist in the implementation and management of all local and regional safety initiatives, providing feedback and handle project start-up communication, including communicating Lafarge protocols and guidelines with new customers Hours of Operations, Site Circulation, Site Rules, Hauler Requirements, LH Excess Soil Importation H and S Guidelines
- The candidates should be able to ensure excess soil hauler, customer, and contractor compliance with Lafarge H and S Guidelines and issue notifications in the event of non-compliance and enforce operational controls to prevent environmental impacts and report regularly on project costs and the status of operational controls and coordinate internal resources and third-party contractors, supporting procurement efforts and ongoing management of change orders as they relate to contractor scope of work
- The candidates should be able to identify instances where changes in scope of work necessitate changes to operational controls to prevent environmental impacts and manage project site visitor management in accordance with Lafarge policy and procedures and identify instances where changes in scope of work necessitate changes to operational controls to prevent H and S hazards
- The candidates should be able to manage contractor requirements, such as managing equipment (bulldozers, environmental controls – sweeper or water trucks) based on demand and and manage spend to budget and enforce project site-level compliance with provincial and Lafarge-wide standards and requirements
- The candidates should be able to track and control projects using Excess Soil tools provided SoilFlo, SiteDocs and ensure soil accounting by ensuring sampling is completed in accordance with Lafarge’s Excess Soil Protocol and generate reports as required for management and for stakeholder engagement purposes
- The candidates should be able to conduct morning safety huddles and train new hires and work closely with the Operations Supervisor for site requirements and day-to-day scheduling and reinforce H and S rules and policies for all employees and manage invoices soil sampling and enforce site-level operational controls and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders and assist with coordinating contractors, visitors, and customers on-site and provide daily, weekly, and monthly project reporting using standardized tools
- The candidates should be able to enter tickets SoilFlo to Apex and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders and manage project-level coordination, monitoring, control, and performance and demonstrate safety leadership and continued development of Safety Culture
- The candidates should be able to collect market intelligence and thoroughly understand the excess soil market in the assigned territory and perform effective administration to ensure environmental compliance and communicate in a professional and concise manner and report to the Senior Manager – Excess Soil GTA and SW and supervise 2+ Excess Soil Field Technicians
- The candidates should be able to work closely with various internal stakeholders in continuous collaboration, including but not limited to operational staff and compliance functions (Land, Environment, H and S and support Excess Soil material placement in Mosport and work outside in heat or cold, wet or humid, and dry or arid conditions (~80%) and travel frequently among project sites within the sub-market area
