Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work a flexible schedule, access to a private vehicle with business insurance
- The candidates should be available for on-call work, the capacity to professionally manage exposure to stressful situations, including confrontational and emotionally distressed scenario
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Records Check from local police
- The candidates should provide a recent and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check, Â provide a Child Protection Clearance Check satisfactory to the Employer
- The candidates should have registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW), provide proof of a valid Class 5 driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to conduct thorough risk and safety assessments to determine appropriate levels of intervention
- The candidates should be able to develop comprehensive intervention plans tailored to the needs of children, youth, and families
- The candidates should be able to provide counselling and case management services to individuals from diverse backgrounds
- The candidates should be able to complete documentation in alignment with professional standards of practice and departmental policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to address complex family dynamics and psychosocial factors impacting client well-being
- The candidates should be able to conduct home or agency visits and offer support through community-based services
- The candidates should be able to screen, identify, and prioritize service referrals to ensure timely and appropriate response
- The candidates should be able to prepare detailed reports, complete legal documentation, and provide testimony in court
Benefits:
- The candidates will get housing allowances, a signing bonus between $30,000 – $50,000 in return for a two-year return-in-service agreement
- The candidates will get $12,000 in housing allowances/benefits (unless housing is provided by the Dept), $3000 – $5000
