Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have 3+ years of experience in engineering team management
- The candidates should possess 7+ years of engineering experience
- The candidates should demonstrate knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle. This includes expertise in coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
- The candidates should have experience collaborating with product or program management teams. Additionally, they should be adept at communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- The candidates should have experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to enhance their skills and effectiveness as product software engineer
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to lead a focused technical team with a direct impact on a highly strategic category
- The candidates should be able to dive deep into performance and operational data, working closely with product, business, and engineering teams to develop a compelling vision and roadmap
- The candidates should be able to present technical plans to senior executives and key stakeholders, evangelizing that technical vision within Amazon
- The candidates should be able to hire, develop, and retain top-tier technical talent
- The candidates should be able to drive efficient execution of new initiatives, including collaboration with advertising and retail teams
- The candidates should be able to manage an engineering team responsible for critical high-availability infrastructure delivering ads across Amazon’s sites and devices worldwide
- The candidates should be able to lead the Kindle device Lock screen Ads engineering team to define, build, and ship solutions that positively impact our advertisers
- The candidates should be able to play a pivotal role in managing projects at all stages: inception, design, development, deployment, and subsequent improvements
