Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have 5+ years process design experience in the beverage, dairy, food and pet food industries

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • The candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have very strong technical skills, particularly in engineering, focusing on food equipment design and compliance
  • The candidates should demonstrate familiarity with CFIA, FDA, and USDA food equipment and design standards
  • The candidates should understand Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs), clean design requirements, and how they impact process and equipment layouts
  • The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office for documentation and analysis and follow engineering best practices
  • The candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be adept at collaboration
  • The candidates should hold a valid driver’s license and passport for potential travel to client sites
  • The candidates should ideally have a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to analyze, design, and implement cost savings initiatives and
  • The candidates should be able to apply engineering fundamentals in bulk powder and dry ingredient handling, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
  • The candidates should be able to conduct field measurements to quantify design requirements
  • The candidates should be able to research and apply relevant codes and regulations and assist in the development of bills of materials and compose reports detailing recommendations to improve processes
  • The candidates should be able to identify equipment capabilities, utility and infrastructure requirements, and develop Process Flow Diagrams and layout concepts and lead design teams, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors
  • The candidates should be able to write control narratives to assist in programming processes according to customer requirements and ensure contractors manage adherence to client safety measures during installation
  • The candidates should be able to provide contractor field support and regularly inspect installation activities at client sites to ensure proper implementation of project designs
  • The candidates should be able to commission systems by testing and troubleshooting processes in the field, and collaborate with vendor technicians to resolve any issues and participate in continuing education engineering and technical courses to enhance subject matter expertise
  • The candidates should be able to develop and update project requirements and specifications and conduct client site visits and inspections, and prepare comprehensive written reports or updates accordingly
