Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a post-secondary college diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have experience working in confined spaces or at heights

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a strong background in inspection and repair, rehabilitation design of existing structures, including bridges, buildings, and retaining walls and a solid comprehension of basic structural concepts
  • The candidates should be willing to attend and complete various in-house TTC training courses as defined by management

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
  • The candidates should have knowledge of CADD, MicroStation, and/or structural design-related software and acquire sound knowledge of TTC policies and procedures
  • The candidates should have rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and related orders, including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements for passengers and employees

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist in structural inspection and maintenance of tunnels, bridges, and structures for rail vehicle operations and prepare inspection forms and assist in conducting field inspection work
  • The candidates should be able to process inspection field data and prepare CADD drawings for inspection, repair, and maintenance projects
  • The candidates should be able to enter inspection data into databases and spreadsheets and manipulate data for reporting and assist in the preparation, coordination, and administration of design packages for repair works
  • The candidates should be able to ensure respectful and dignified treatment of passengers and employees while accommodating individuals with disabilities as per the Ontario Human Rights Code and participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program
