Food smiths based in Perth, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Supermarket clerk. Food smiths strives to support local producers and suppliers while offering a wide range of specialty and gourmet items to its customers. In addition to groceries, the store also features a bakery, deli, and café, providing freshly prepared foods and beverages to enjoy on-site or take away. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Economic specialization: Retail business
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be accustomed to repetitive tasks, and handle heavy loads
- The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks, have attention to detail, and be able to stand for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to engage in regular walking activities, be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed, and lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate a strong client focus and possess excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should exhibit flexibility, be organized, and demonstrate reliability
- The candidates should be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to obtain articles for customers from the shelf or stockroom, direct customers to the location of articles sought, and provide customer service
- The candidates should be able to unpack products received by the store and count, weigh, or sort items, maintain computerized stock inventory, and stock shelves and display areas
- The candidates should be able to keep stock clean and in order, perform general cleaning duties (i.e., sweeping, mopping floors), and perform order picking
