Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
Experience: Candidates should have five years of nursing experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through a minimum of one (1) year of northern nursing, and two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • The candidates should be licensed and in good standing with CANNN
  • The candidates should have completed a Primary Health Care NP or Adult or Family All-Ages certification if they are NPs
  • The candidates should have First Aid and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification with annual renewal
  • The candidates should know that possession of one or more Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, Advances in Labor and Risk Management, Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, and Trauma Nursing Core Course
  • The candidates should be aware that this is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide clinical support and guidance to CHNs and the health care team in accordance with their education and NP scope of practice
  • The candidates should be able to manage and provide direct clinical and administrative supervision and training for CHNs and support staff
  • The candidates should be able to manage a significant budget each fiscal year for the provision of comprehensive health services in the community
  • The candidates should be able to operate within a defined budget and use sound judgment in allocating funds in the most appropriate manner
  • The candidates should be able to support the provision of quality community health programming

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get Northern Allowance $29922.00 per year
  • The candidates will get recruitment bonuses include $5000.00 on start date, $5000.00 at 18 months of service and $10000.00 at 30 months of service
  • The candidates will get Additional premiums include a $9000.00 Annual Frontline Allowance and a $375.00 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4500.00 per year
  • The candidates will get a Tier One allowance of $10 premium and a Tier Two allowance of $15 premium
