Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Diploma in Food Service and Nutrition Management, or a Bachelor of Science with a focus on nutrition
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of three years of experience in food service

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• The candidates should possess demonstrated strong leadership and supervisory skills
• The candidates should have a satisfactory record of work performance and attendance

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of Environmental (Housekeeping and Laundry) and Food Services standards and practices
• The candidates should possess demonstrated knowledge of cleaning processes, waste management, linen production, and related infection control policies and practices
• The candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• The candidates should have the ability to develop a strong working relationship with various stakeholders
• The candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage financial resources in an effective and efficient manner
• The candidates should possess strong computer skills

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to effectively supervise and manage the daily operations of food and environmental services within St. Patrick’s Mercy Home
• The candidates should be able to adhere to the policies and procedures of Eastern Health, CUPE collective agreement, Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and NL Government Resident Care Standards
• The candidates should be able to implement guidelines from accrediting and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with industry standards
• The candidates should be able to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and establish strong liaisons with other programs and departments
• The candidates should be able to prioritize client satisfaction by providing safe, nutritious meals and maintaining a clean, comfortable, and aseptic environment
• The candidates should be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills to oversee staff, manage schedules, and allocate resources efficiently
• The candidates should be able to conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to established standards
• The candidates should be able to foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices and identifying areas for enhancement
• The candidates should be able to respond promptly to any client concerns or complaints, taking appropriate actions to address issues and prevent recurrence
• The candidates should be able to stay updated on industry trends and advancements in food service and environmental management to enhance service delivery and client care
