Job Description:

Position: Support worker – social services

Salary: $24.70 hourly for 24 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time
Location: Morrisburg, ON & Winchester, ON
Transportation information: Own vehicle, Vehicle supplied by employer, Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Group home, Rural area, Associations and non profit organizations

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed College, CEGEP, or another non-university certificate or diploma program from 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience in Developmental Services Worker, Social Work (General), or Social Work (Other)
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Developmental services worker(DSW)Training, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be dedicated to client focus, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and excel in both oral and written communication
  • The candidates should show initiative in their tasks and responsibilities, exercise sound judgment in decision-making, and be collaborative team players
  • The candidates should demonstrate interpersonal awareness, uphold values and ethics, and maintain a high level of organization

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform housekeeping activities and engage in food preparation
  • The candidates should be able to supervise activities of clients living in group homes and halfway houses, assist clients/guests with special needs, and accompany clients to appointments and social outings
