Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED
Experience: Candidates should have experience in optical lab surfacing
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have manual dexterity
- The candidates should have basic mathematical ability
- The candidates should possess attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to apply a protective adhesive tape to lenses
- The candidates should be able to operate a computerized blocker by scanning the job tray
- The candidates should be able to place a block for handling lenses on the production line
- The candidates should be able to align lenses according to the drawing on the screen
- The candidates should be able to press a lever to lock lenses in position
- The candidates should be able to verify the position and press a button to inject the alloy into the blocking ring
- The candidates should be able to place adhesive pads on tool laps
- The candidates should be able to disassemble blocks from lenses using a deblocking ring
- The candidates should be able to remove protective adhesive from lenses
- The candidates should be able to wash lenses in soapy water
- The candidates should be able to rinse lenses, followed by drying them with an electric dryer
- The candidates should be able to put blocks in a metal basket
- The candidates should be able to plunge the basket into hot water for a few minutes to melt the alloy mixture off the blocks
- The candidates should be able to pour the melted alloy back into the blocking machines
- The candidates should be able to wash and dry the blocks
- The candidates should be able to supply the blocking station on a regular basis with alloy and blocks
- The candidates should be able to oversee automated equipment
