Work setting: Remote location, Rural area
Supervision: 3-4 people
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Area of specialization:Â Agricultural livestock service, Swine
Equipment and machinery experience:Â Feeding and watering system
Security and safety:Â Driver’s validity licence check, Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be experienced in hog and pig farming, have expertise in hog management, and be comfortable working in dusty and noisy environments
- The candidates should be able to tolerate odors associated with the farming environment, work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, demonstrate attention to detail, handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday, and be prepared for a large workload
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills
- The candidates should be organized and a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers, ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed, and maintain livestock performance records
- The candidates should be able to maintain quality control and production records, recognize and treat certain livestock health problems, and select livestock for sale
- The candidates should be able to supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs, maintain work records and logs, and perform general farm duties
