Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have a college diploma in the electrical field
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in using computer systems such as service management software, Excel, and Word
  • The candidates should have experience and skills in interpersonal relations, communication, and customer service

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have practical and theoretical knowledge of relevant field
  • The candidates should have knowledge and experience related to applicable municipal, provincial, and federal codes, the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other laws and regulations that apply to the position
  • The candidates should possess an Electrical worker Ontario license, a valid driving license and a Certificate in Fire Panels (CFAA)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to install, maintain, and repair various parts of electrical equipment and systems, troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues, implementing effective solutions
  • The candidates should be able to provide exceptional service to the University’s community, ensuring the preservation or improvement of users’ comfort
  • The candidates should be able to work under the supervision of the Electrical Manager and collaborate effectively within a team, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a high standard of workmanship in electrical tasks
  • The candidates should be able to perform all duties permitted by the electrical technician trade, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and codes, and respond to electrical maintenance requests from the team lead following calls lodged at the Call Centre
  • The candidates should be able to analyse, identify, and propose necessary corrective measures to the operating teams of the engineering sector and other sectors to maximize the efficiency and economic, safe operation of electrical equipment
  • The candidates should be able to analyse, identify, and correct the causes of breakdowns of complex systems and/or equipment, as well as communicate with customers to inform them and ensure client satisfaction
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate effectively with the engineering team and other sectors
