Job Description:

Salary: $31.50 hourly for 80 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Hamilton, ON
Shifts: Day
Work setting: In shop

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Tool and die fabrication experience: Gauges or instruments, Jigs and fixtures, Metal cutting, forming or bending dies, Compound or progressive transfer dies
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be able to work in a noisy area

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate and organized
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools
  • The candidates should be able to verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
  • The candidates should be able to machine, fit and assemble castings and other parts to make metal moulds, cores boxes and precision models of required shape
  • The candidates should be able to inspect and test final products
  • The candidates should be able to lay out, shape and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic and other materials from blueprints, models or templates
  • The candidates should be able to position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining
