Position: Tow truck driver

Salary: $29.50 to $32.50 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver’s licence, willing to travel for extended periods, and willing to travel overnight
Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook, and inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Equipment and machinery experience: Flatbed, straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), tow truck, and tractor-trailer
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots and safety vest
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement and driver’s license (Class 1 or A)
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads and work with weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- The candidates should be comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including sitting for extended periods and thriving in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and manage weight handling effectively
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, exhibit strong judgment, and show patience
- The candidates should be reliable and a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to drive lighter, special-purpose trucks and operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- The candidates should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo, and receive and relay information to central dispatch
