Salary: $29.50 to $32.50 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel for extended periods, and Willing to travel overnight
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Equipment and machinery experience: Flatbed, Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tow truck, and Tractor-trailer
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots and Safety vest
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and weight handling, and be able to handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding work and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and sit for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be flexible and demonstrate good judgment
- The candidates should be reliable and a team player
- The candidates should have patience
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, and drive lighter, special-purpose trucks
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle, perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, and tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo
- The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch
