Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have demonstrate a safety-oriented work ethic supported by experience within the labour industry
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be at least 18 years of age
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess GED, hold a valid driver’s license and a valid Class 3 license, CL4, CL3/Air, CL2, or CL1/Air
- The candidates should have good written and verbal communication and comprehension skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labour on an assigned area of track
- The candidates should be able to pull track spikes as part of daily duties, apply rail anchors safely and effectively
- The candidates should be able to shovel crushed rock and perform other manual tasks, bend and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- The candidates should be able to complete repetitive tasks efficiently and consistently, work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, direct sunlight, and snow
- The candidates should be able to accept seasonal employment, understanding that layoffs may occur at the end of the work season, return to work as needed, based on operational requirements and seniority
