Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have broad knowledge of the Network schedule and delay patterns, landlines, satellites, and the technical understanding of television and radio distribution systems and a basic understanding of production craft functions
- The candidates should have completed a Community College program in a TV Broadcast applied program or possess equivalent industry experience
- The candidates should have a minimum of three years of directly related experience, including one year at the level of a Presentation Technician
- The candidates should have advanced knowledge of landlines, satellites, and the technical understanding of worldwide TV and radio distribution systems and basic PC computer skill
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to prioritize and coordinate distribution and collection facilities in accordance with department and program policies and manage long-term templates for Radio and TV bookings
- The candidates should be able to create and maintain all relevant information on ongoing programs and streams for Media Presentation and other partners and manage all changes to HNIC hockey schedules during playoffs, sometimes requiring after-hours work
- The candidates should be able to coordinate the routing of feeds, including the booking and purchase of circuits and facilities both domestically and internationally, ensuring proper termination
- The candidates should be able to negotiate and arrange the purchase of backup facilities from external agencies in emergency situations within delegated authority and cost-effectiveness and analyze facilities to assist production planning for special events
- The candidates should be able to communicate with common carriers to resolve transmission problems and distribute information related to network programming and verify the accuracy of Network schedules and insert corrected information
- The candidates should be able to operate and adjust satellite transmission systems, monitor their condition, and report on satellite earth transmitters and receivers and coordinate technical adjustments of feeds with Control Room facilities and other clients
- The candidates should be able to contribute ideas and recommendations to resolve issues and achieve desired results and perform all or part of the duties of an equivalent or lower classification
