Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a doctoral degree in Psychology
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to work independently and as part of a team

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program
• The candidates should have an equivalent combination of education and experience and be active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
• The candidates should have graduated from an accredited PhD program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
• The candidates should have completed an approved internship, be chartered or eligible for chartering in Alberta and experience coordinating and facilitating therapeutic groups.
• The candidates should have knowledge of clinical practice issues related to chronic pain and headache populations
• The candidates should have experience working with a multidisciplinary team and excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
• The candidates should have demonstrated skills in group facilitation and experience coordinating and facilitating therapeutic groups
• The candidates should have experience in clinical neurology and experience working with young adults with chronic pain

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to provide advanced clinical services, including psychological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention
• The candidates should be able to offer consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients or families
• The candidates should be able to provide clinical leadership and coordination in an assigned program area
• The candidates should be able to work within teams to provide and inform services for patients with complex and multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental, and/or instrumental
• The candidates should be able to consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure practices are evidence-based and aligned with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, as well as policy, legislation, and regulations
• The candidates should be able to lead, facilitate, and participate in program, policy, and procedure development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement and evaluation, and research activities, as required by the service area(s)
• The candidates should be able to provide supervision to doctoral level psychology residents, master’s level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists, and other team members
