Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: AZ class license
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks and comfortable with sitting as part of their duties
- The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) effectively
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, good judgment, and patience
- The candidates should exhibit organizational skills and reliability
- The candidates should be a team player
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to arrange travel itineraries, including reservations.
- The candidates should be capable of driving as part of a two-person team or convoy
- The candidates should be proficient in driving lighter, special-purpose trucks for transportation tasks
- The candidates should be skilled in loading and unloading goods safely and efficiently
- The candidates should have the ability to obtain necessary permits and documents for international cargo transport
- The candidates should be experienced in operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods
- The candidates should be responsible for overseeing vehicle conditions and conducting inspections of tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- The candidates should be able to handle payment and receipt transactions for transported goods
- The candidates should perform thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and manage vehicle operations
- The candidates should be proficient in performing preventive maintenance on vehicles.
- The candidates should effectively communicate information with central dispatch and relay necessary updates
- The candidates should accurately record cargo details, service hours, distance travelled, and fuel usage
- The candidates should ensure the secure tarping and safety of transported cargo during operations
